Black Cat Farmstead

Welcome to the Black Cat Farmstead fiber studio & farm store!  Explore our site to learn more about our beautiful sheep, flax-to-linen production, handspun yarn, farm-grown wool & other supplies for handspinners and felters, one-of-a kind locally made goods & more!

We are a family-friendly destination just 5 miles from the picturesque village of Stockholm, Wisconsin on the Great River Road, 90 minutes downriver from Minneapolis-St Paul, and about an hour from Rochester, Eau Claire and LaCrosse.  Visitors to the yarn farm can meet the sheep, goats and other farm animals who live here, purchase farm-raised wool and handspun yarns, see demonstrations or take a class in spinning, weaving and other crafts.
For the most up-to-date list of events & happenings, check out our

About Black Cat:
We are well-stocked with an array of items for you or for gift-giving, including handmade and hand-dyed yarns, raw, washed and dyed fleece from our flock, learn-to-spin kits, and hand knit items.  New this winter - handwoven items made here at the farm on our antique looms!  We also have working antique spinning wheels for sale.  Gift certificates, too.

We are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10am to 4pm until Christmas, and other times by appointment.  Please call ahead in January and February. Regular hours resume in March when the sap runs and the lambs are born.

You can also find Black Cat Farmstead yarns, handwovens, and wool at the Purple Turtle Artisan Collective, located in the lower level of the Stockholm Pottery Building in downtown Stockholm.!contact/c24vq
